Cinda Jones

Cinda Jones, 9th Generation Community Investor, Environmental Steward / CEO, WD Cowls, Inc., Land Co.

Lessons Learned:  How mis-steps, regrets, fire, animosity, and the support of my girlfriends made me a notorious Game Changer in the Happy Valley.

Thursday, November 9th at 6:00 pm for wine and cheese.

The speaker will follow at 6:30 pm.

A well-known state and national leader in sustainable forestry and land conservation, Cinda Jones is the 9th Generation to manage her family’s Land Company from their North Amherst Home Farm.  Like 8 generations before her, Jones discontinued outdated operations and advantaged new opportunities.  She devised and is building The Mill District, in North Amherst, on the site of the sawmill and planing mill she shuttered in 2010.  She has permanently conserved over 5,500 acres of agricultural forest land in Amherst, Pelham, Shutesbury, and Leverett; has plans to conserve at least 1,000 acres more; while harvesting solar energy on 3% of her timberland.  Most recently Jones co-founded Ancestral Bridges with Anika Lopes, an organization Jones anticipates will improve Indigenous and Black residents’ economic and societal futures with opportunities for first time homeownership, health care, and cultural appreciation.
